Squeezebox and Transporter uses Squeezebox Server software. To perform a clean install of Squeezebox Server, please select your operating system:. Windows 7 / XP / Vista Remove existing software. Uninstall Logitech Media Server:. For Windows XP, select Logitech Media Server, and then click Remove.
For Windows Vista and 7, select Logitech Media Server, and then click Uninstall. You may be prompted to confirm the un-install. If so, click Yes.
You'll be prompted to delete preference and log files. Click Yes to make sure the next installation will be clean of any old preferences. You may see a dialog box pop up saying not all files and folders were removed from the previous installation. You'll need to locate these files and folders manually.
TIP: You can search for the following keywords within Windows to locate any files and folders that weren't removed by the installation. Squeezebox. SqueezeCenter (for older installations).
Slimserver (for older installations) Install new software. Get the latest version of Logitech Media Server from the page.
Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. On the final window, click Finish and the Logitech Media Server Control Panel will come up. Now, you need to set up your Media Library name, Media folder locations, and MySqueezebox.Com account. Go to the Library tab and set your:.
Media Library name. Media folder locations. Playlist folder location. iTunes settings.
Go to the Account tab to enter your MySqueezebox.Com account credentials. Windows Home Server Remove existing software. Open the Windows Home Server Console and log in to Windows Home Server. (See your Windows Home Server support documentation for help).
Once you're logged in to the Windows Home Server console, click Settings. In the left pane, click Logitech Media Server. On the Status tab, under Startup Options, click Stop Logitech Media Server. Once the Logitech Medias Server is stopped, go to the Advanced tab. Under the Cleanup section, select the check boxes for:. 'Delete preference files'. 'Clean cache folder, including music database, artwork cache etc.'
Then, click Run Cleanup. In the left pane, click Add-ins. In the right window, click the Installed tab, find Logitech Media Server, and then click Uninstall.

Once the uninstall is complete, a dialog box will display confirming the software has been uninstalled and Windows Home Server will need to restart. Install new software. Locate the Shared Folders for Software, select it and click Open. This will open a new Windows shared/network folder. Open the Add-ins folder and move or copy the latest version of Logitech Media Server for Windows Home Server that was downloaded in step one into this folder. Once the file is copied, close this window. Go back to the Windows Home Server console and click Settings.
In the left pane, click Add-ins. In the right window, click the Available tab. Find Logitech Media Server and click Install. Once the installation is complete, a dialog box will display confirming the software has been installed successfully and Windows Home Server will need to restart.

NOTE: This information is now out of date - Installation is now performed using a single QPKG package from within the QNAP Administration web interface This page describes how to install SqueezeCenter 7.2 and later on QNAP TS-109 or TS-209 based using the QPKG SSOTS build. The instructions work for us - they may not work for you. Use at your own risk.
Please note that the commands are case sensitive and must be entered exactly as shown. We recommend using the FireFox browser for all downloads to prevent file name changes (as can occur with Internet Explorer). 1) Use the QNAP Finder application to identify the IP address of the QNAP (e.g. 172.30.1.159 in our example - substitute your QNAP IP address in all subsequent cases). The firmware version is displayed. 2) Check the latest firmware available for your particular QNAP device from downloads section at.
If you have the latest version go to step 8. 3) Download the latest firmware zip file and save to your local (PC/Mac) hard drive. 4) Extract the firmware img file from the zip using WinZip, Winrar etc 5) Use a web browser (FireFox) to connect to the QNAP admin interface. Click on the Administration link. Username admin default password admin. 6) Select the option System Update within the System Tools section.
Use the Browse button to select the firmware img file extracted in step 4. 7) Click the Update button. The system firmware will be updated and will require a reboot of the QNAP when completed - click the Yes button to confirm the reboot. 8) Connect to the QNAP Administrative web interface using the username admin (default password admin). Click on the QPKG link within System Tools.
9) Click on the Get QPKG link. 10) A list of available QPKG packages available will be displayed including SSOTS SqueezeCenter (SlimServer). 11) Download the appropriate SqueezeCenter SSOTS package for your hardware and save to disk. Extract the qpkg file from the downloaded zip file using WinZip, WinRAR etc.
12) Next get the latest SqueezeCenter Perl Source Code (tar.gz) from. Save the file to your local hard drive. We recommend using FireFox for (at least) this step as Internet Explorer is known to corrupt the downloaded filename. 13) Navigate to the QNAP Administrative web interface again and select System Update from the System Tools section. 14) Use the Browse button to select the qpkg file extracted from the download in step 11.
Click the Update button. 15) Once the QPKG SSOTS package has been installed navigate to the QPKG section within the System Tools section. Click on the SSOTS link. 16) Enable the SSOTS package. 17) Copy the SqueezeCenter Perl tar downloaded in step 12 to the Public folder on the QNAP. Quick Tip: To access the shares quickly on the QNAP use the Windows Run option off the Start menu (or the Windows key + R). In the Open text box enter qnap ip address Public - substitue your QNAP IP adderess e.g.
In our example we would use 172.30.1.159 Public 18) Navigate to the SSOTS control web interface on port 9099. If the ip address of your QNAP (as seen in the QNAP Finder is 192.168.1.10 then the SSOTS interface will be at 19) Click on the Install link. 20) The SqueezeCenter version available to be installed will be listed (if not then check the copy process of step 17).
Click on the names SqueezeCenter to start the installation. 21) SqueezeCenter will now be installed. When completed click on the Settings button and enable the AutoStart toggle to ensure SqueezeCenter starts when the QNAP boots. 22) Click on the Start button to get SqueezeCenter going.
Check the progress using the Status button. 23) We recommend that you now reboot the QNAP. 24) Give the QNAP a few minutes to get fully started. You should now be able to access (and configure) SqueezeCenter on port 9001. If the QNAP Finder reports that the QNAP is at address 192.168.1.10 then you should be able to access the SqueezeCenter web interface at - substitute your actual IP address here.
